U7-U8: Program Details

The first time, a player can choose grassroots or be in our CMSA program. Technical training skill centres are run by club staff and built around the Villains’ ball station mastery setup. This is where players will focus on physical literacy while growing a love for the game.

Club skill centres will focus on Canada Soccer’s LTPD Model with age group-specific training sessions.

Volunteer Coaches:

Our team volunteer coaches receive ongoing direction, mentorship, and support through the Villains’ coaching philosophy and development framework. This ensures that every team within an age group is learning and playing with consistent principles, ideas, and standards across the club. By creating a unified approach to player development, our coaches are equipped with the tools needed to deliver a positive, organized, and development-focused environment for every athlete.

We are committed to investing in our coaches and making coach education accessible. Volunteer coaches are eligible for licensing subsidies upon completion of approved coaching certifications offered both in-house through Calgary Villains FC and externally through CMSA.

In addition to formal licensing support, coaches are provided with access to our club coaching platform, which includes more than 10,000 animated training videos, professionally designed session plans, and age-appropriate practice activities for all skill levels and abilities.

*To Register you must have a PowerUp Member Zone account. Returning families you are able to log in directly and finish off registration. If you are a new player and your old club used PowerUp you are able to login with the same information and transfer your family profile over. If you are a new player and your old club did not use PowerUp you just need to create an account for your family.
