About
Calgary Villains FC
Calgary Villains FC (CVFC) is a National Youth Licensed Club operating as a not-for-profit organization. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Established in 1981 by Chris Baker and several current club alumni, CVFC was founded out of a deep love and passion for the game of soccer.
At Villains FC, everything we do is built around one standard: player development at the highest level—from grassroots to Pro-Am—for as many players as possible, for as long as possible.
We are not a short-term results club—we are a long-term development system. But when development is done right, results follow. In 2025, Villains was the only club in Calgary to send two teams to PDP Nationals in Ontario—a significant achievement considering only eight teams from the entire province qualified, and two were ours.
That standard starts with our people. Villains is led by the highest licensed coaching staff in the game, including Technical Director Munib Koric, alongside multiple A Diploma and B Diploma licensed coaches, and a deep group of C Diploma certified staff. Every program is led by licensed professionals, and we actively invest in the future of coaching—reimbursing volunteer coaches to earn their licenses—because great environments are built by great coaches.
It’s supported by unmatched infrastructure. Villains players train in some of the best facilities in the city, including the Villains Dome, our high-performance Training Centre, and a fully integrated Clubhouse. Our environment includes a fully equipped weight room and a turf performance space with bikes, sleds, and speed equipment, all aligned with our player development plans. With on-site physio, recovery spaces, player lounges, and the capacity to train up to 12 teams at once, we provide a professional, centralized environment designed for serious development.
For families, that means trust—consistent standards, professional coaching, and a real pathway.
For players, it means opportunity—the ability to develop, compete, and stay in the game at the highest level for years.
Villains isn’t just a club. It’s a complete development system. And a place to call home.

Club History
The Villains Club was founded by Chris Baker in 1981, who is still an active president in our organization. Our TD Munib Koric is the longest serving TD at one club and has been with Villains for over 24 years in a technical capacity. Munib is a certified UEFA Pro coach, the highest coaching license in the world. Our Sporting Director, Calvin Campbell, has been involved for 25 years, serving in many roles within the club. Together, these three have over 80 years of investment in the Villains and a true sense of loyalty, passion, and commitment to the club. You will not find another organization that has the commitment and dedication that these three provide the club.
We Pride ourselves on having former players who come back into the club in coaching roles. We currently have over 10 coaches and staff who were involved in the youth level many of them being involved in the club for over 15 years.
These staff members embody the club’s DNA and ensure that all levels and abilities have the best programming available. We put equal care and emphasis into each program to ensure every player has a great experience in the club. We help and support volunteer parent coaches by reimbursing course fees upon successful completion of the coaching license. We, like all clubs, rely heavily on volunteer coaches at all levels and ages.
